Happy Holidays Means Happy Holy Days - It's the American Way to wish all faiths a happy season!
The word "holiday" means holy day, so when you're wishing someone a Happy Holiday, you're wishing them a happy holy day. Now what could be wrong with that? It's certainly the American way, to respect the ways of others. The term gained its wide useage and popularity back in World War II. Then, when you were in the trench with someone else, and shells were flying overhead, you really didn't give a d*** what religion the guy was who was guarding your back. All you cared about was that he was an American.
That's what it means to be an American. But there are some who feel Americans should believe whom they believe in, and if you don't, they don't want to wish you a happy anything. Now I'd say that's very Un-American!
So, to all you so-called Americans who insist we say Merry Christmas instead of Happy Holidays, get a life - this is America!
